The world market for technical textiles was estimated at $127.2 billion in 2010, with Asia accounting for $59.9 billion, or 47 percent of the total. China, which is now the world's largest producer of technical textiles in volume terms, is estimated to have around 11 percent of the industry’s total global exports by value.
Moreover, China’s apparent consumption is forecast to grow at around 10 percent a year to 2015, and the country will continue to be a significant importer, particularly for high-tech products.
A new publication from Textile Media Services – China Technical Textiles: Key producers and market trends to 2015 – provides a unique reference resource of the Chinese technical textile industries, which produced a total of 8.2 million tons of technical textiles in 2010, accounting for more than one third of global production.
Written by Chen Nan Yang, this in-depth report, with more than 220 pages and over 50 tables, provides the latest available commercial information on leading technical textile producers in China and an analysis of the industry structure, competition, market trends and technology developments. It identifies strengths, weaknesses, risks and strategic challenges of these leading suppliers, enabling manufacturers, trading companies and investors to make critical decisions and locate opportunities in this rapidly growing market.
Published in February 2012, the publication also features profiles of around 100 leading players in the Chinese technical textiles sector.
