Mian Ajmal Farooq, Chairman All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association (APTPMA) expressed satisfaction over the recent visit of China by Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif and said that the completion of all MoUs and agreements would open news ways of friendship for both countries.

Chinese investment of billions of rupees would come into the country, and help resolve the severe energy crisis and problems of the industry and traders. Because of the energy crisis and other problems the country's industry, business, economy and exports were declining day by day.

Especially from closures as a result of the energy crisis ie gas and electricity, the textile processing industry was confronted with complete devastation, he added.

Chairman APTPMA acclaimed this visit as a good augury, as it was the first country after taking over the government that Nawaz Sharif had visited for the restoration of the economy. He received a warm welcome, he hoped the visit would strengthen Pak-China friendship, making it more reliable, and stated that the impact of this good start would be beneficial for the development of the country.

He said that the government's confidence had been enhanced by the recent visit of China and that the government would now be able to negotiate with other countries in the matter with new zeal. The completion of the Pak-China agreements would prove to be a positive step to resolve the problems faced by the textile industry. Investment would prosper because of the increase in trade volumes between both countries. Completion of the agreement of the construction of the Lahore-Karachi Motorway would provide comfortable and affordable transport facilities to the citizens of Pakistan within minimum possible time and facilitate industrialists, businessmen and traders for the transport of goods. The establishment of an Economic Corridor between Gwadar and the historic Silk Road city would prove to be an important milestone for the development of our economy. After the completion of projects of power plants, high-speed trains, the Diamir-Bhasha Dam, Optic Fiber Motorways and other projects by the Chinese companies, the resolution of the problems faced by our industry, traders and public seemed possible.

In conclusion, APTPMA Chief congratulated the Prime Minister of Pakistan and all members of his delegation for the successful visit of China and hoped that on the completion of projects and agreements between both countries, a new era of development would start in the country.
