Chinese Academy of Social Sciences released the “China Industry Competitiveness Report (2012) NO.2”, Guo Chaoxian, deputy director of Industrial Organization Office of Academy of Social Sciences Institute of Industrial Economics, said that textile and garment industry is China’s most competitive industries, product market share came in the second in the world, while productivity is 14 times the United States.
Guo Chaoxian noted that China’s textile and garment industry is the most competitive industry of the nation, no matter from the aspects of international market share, trade competitiveness index, the real index of comparative advantage, are all strongest in the world. China’s textile and garment industry’s market share came in the second in the world, six times Italy, 7 times Germany and 12 times the United States.
Meanwhile, Guo Chaoxian pointed out that in regards with China’s low carbon competitiveness of textile and apparel and energy consumption, the textile industry in the 39 industries ranked No. 6. Compared with other countries in the world, carbon productivity is relatively low.
